Dr. Morse is joined by former-lesbian Elizabeth Woning, founder of the Changed Movement; formerly-gay Wayne Blakely, founder of Know His Love Ministries; and licensed clinical therapist Andrew Rodriguez, to discuss why people leave the gay identity, why some feel pressured to stay, and how to handle a child who expresses same-sex interest.
"The male and female experience is not the same. Women's sexuality is known to be more fluid. It's driven by emotional connection, unlike male sexuality, which is very physical and object-oriented," Elizabeth says.
"Describe what your experience is," Andrew tells his therapy clients. "'I struggle with, or I'm overcoming, same sex attraction.' That way we're taking the conversation away from what you are to what you deal with." Behaviors are different from identity, he points out.
"After 'Caitlin' Jenner was airbrushed on the cover of Vogue magazine, it was the thing to do, and everyone started coming out," Wayne says. "So I think there were times when being LGBT came about organically, but now we have another layer on top of that because now it's the in thing to do. Now we have social media that is hyping this all up, as well as peer influence."
Hear of the rejection Elizabeth faced when she left the lesbian lifestyle. Learn about Andrew's constant threat of having his license revoked for his therapeutic work. As well as the pushback Wayne receives when trying to minister to churches.
Watch the full episode on Locals to hear the panelists discuss the controversial "conversion therapy." Also, learn how the former gay or lesbian panelists deal with accusations such as, "You were never actually gay in the first place," or, "You're just lying to yourself and will revert to your 'true self' at any time."
Proof that there are more ex-gays than there are gays in the world. Proof that there are, in fact, millions of ex-gays in the world.
Yet you don't hear about them because their stories are suppressed. The gay lobby doesn't want people to know there is a way out of the gay identity.
Our Research Associate Fr. Paul Sullins, Ph.D., explains the truth. (Just scroll a smidge.)
You, our faithful supporters, care about people who are hurting, who have often faced abuse and trauma, and who just need someone to tell them there is indeed a way out.
With your help, we can give that hope to hurting souls. Join our campaign to spread truth and healing!
Help us raise $25,000 by June 17 so we can spread this message far and wide: There is hope; change is possible!
The gay lobby makes sure everyone knows Junes is 'Pride Month,' but they certainly won't acknowledge the many people who have left the LGBT identity behind.
Millions of people currently self-identify as gay, lesbian or bisexual. Yet Senior Research Associate Fr. Paul Sullins looked at the studies and estimates there are more ex-gays than there are gays. That means there have to be millions of them, all with stories that deserve to be heard.
